Hi , I am new to this forum, but as some of you may have guessed I am a bit crazy in the stitching department . I am always getting requests for personal patterns or names to be stitched onto collars / bridles / leads etc , these are almost always stitches in either 16 or 17 stitches to the inch . I use either double hand saddle stitch or single needle back-stitch , and yes ALL of my stitching is done by HAND -- I don't even own a machine ( and never have )

Thought I would give you all a look , ? what do you think

Noseband - This is 17 per inch backstitch

Shamrock pattern - Not finished item , the shamrock is 16 per inch double hand, the 'stalks' ar 17 per inch back stitch

Completed shamrock pattern noseband - this is to date the most difficult item I have completed

Reminded me of copper punching to reveal an intricate pattern. With the stitching that close do you not find it weakens the leather? That would be my concern. Your work is beautiful.

Thanks for the comments

Saddlebag - none of the stitching at 16/17 per inch is load bearing - they are purely decorative . any stitching that is needed for strength is stitched at 8/10/12 per inch .

Impressive work.....you should wright a tutorial on your technics. I'm shure people would love it......specialy the ones who would have the courage to try.

Why with the time you must put in to do this work, you probably don't have the time to be writing tutorials. LOL

Thanks for showing, very inspiring work..... Setting the bar a little heigher.
