Boats36 Report post Posted November 18, 2010 Today I decided to join the forum, introduce myself and thank all of you who made my first leather project a sucess. Living in Arizona, I always loved those low slung buscadaro holsters my cowboy hero's used. Problem was, I was not a fan of the 19th century single-action pistols they carried. I'm much more of a semi-auto kind of guy. I tried to find a buscadero holster to fit my XD-9, but apparently none exist. I figured my only hope was to have one special made, but the cost was too high. My second thought was to make one, even though I had never made anything with leather since the wallet I made in cub scouts. During my research, I found this sight and spent many hours scouring all the information available, reading posts and going to suggested links. Thanks to Leatherworker and the community here, I have a holster I can be proud of and pass down to my grandchilden. So I can share what I did, I posted some pictures on your gallery named "My First Leather Project" Thanks again everyone!!! Regards, Boats36

Never thought of an XD in a Buscadero style holster rig, but it works for me! You did good!
js5972 Report post Posted November 29, 2010 Greetings and welcome from a fellow Zonie. That is a pretty cool holster. I've been wanting to make one like that for my Glock. I think it is #14 on my project list. As you have figured out, there is plenty of info on this site. Enjoy!
