Members Sixer Posted November 23, 2010 Members Report Posted November 23, 2010 Hey there! I have a few friends that asked me to make them some simple leather bracelets... at least I thought it would be simple I am using 5/6 HO leather in 1 inch strips, but I'm having a hard time finding hardware to finish these little things. Any suggestions on where to look for small clasps, buckles, etc. that would fit the bill for a bracelet? It seems like everything I've ordered is to heavy or clunky to be comfortable on a bracelet. Ideas or info would be appreciated! Thanks Quote
Members Nutty Saddler Posted November 23, 2010 Members Report Posted November 23, 2010 http://www.abbeysaddlery.co.uk/ These are avialiable in 10mm ( 3/8") They also have several others - if you go to their online catalogue and look in strap buckles in the buckles and fittings section you may find what you are after Quote
Members Nooj Posted December 29, 2010 Members Report Posted December 29, 2010 Hi- If you would rather use a buckle instead of a snap button, perhaps some watch band hardware would work well. I saw several websites with small buckles googling 'watch band buckles' (some were kinda pricey for a tiny buckle though). Nooj Quote

Members Sixer Posted January 7, 2011 Author Members Report Posted January 7, 2011 Thanks for the info! I've also looked at a few different bracelets that use a little stud (Sam Brown?) ... I might have to give those a try. Quote

Members Gawdzilla Posted January 13, 2011 Members Report Posted January 13, 2011 Think outside the (leather) box. I get small geegaws at craft and hobby stores. "Michael's" or "Hobby Lobby" for example. They have sections on necklace and bracelet making. They're also good for feathers, beads, etc. Quote
