Contributing Member Jordan Posted May 13, 2008 Contributing Member Report Posted May 13, 2008 (edited) Haven't been doing much leather, what with all the computer difficulties, but I just finished a couple of items that were on a deadline. I think they turned out pretty good except the basketweave being a littile off, and my sewing is getting better with each project. Edited May 13, 2008 by Jordan Quote
Members bustedlifter Posted May 13, 2008 Members Report Posted May 13, 2008 Looks really good, Jordan! Don't worry about the basketweave, when I try it it's just like me, waayy off. Quote
Contributing Member Regis Posted May 13, 2008 Contributing Member Report Posted May 13, 2008 Jordan, They look great. I particularly like the way you did the border on the bible cover. Regis Quote
Timd Posted May 13, 2008 Report Posted May 13, 2008 Great way to finish the corners on the border, that always gives me fits! Both projects look really good. Quote
Members Dagr Posted May 13, 2008 Members Report Posted May 13, 2008 Both look great, nice work! Quote
Contributing Member rdb Posted May 13, 2008 Contributing Member Report Posted May 13, 2008 Nice job Jordan!. I really like that color, it's a rich brown...and me too on the corner idea. Quote
Contributing Member Jordan Posted May 14, 2008 Author Contributing Member Report Posted May 14, 2008 eco-flow acorn brown and a slightly watered down black hi-lite over the top. Quote
Froghunter Posted May 14, 2008 Report Posted May 14, 2008 Nicely done Jordan. I have to jump on the "corner" bandwagon here as well. I don't do alot of stamped borders because of the corners, but now I see that it can be done. So....THANKS! And basketweave is the bane of my existence! Notice I haven't ever posted any! Cuz my only attempt have not been pretty. More Basket chunks than weave! Keep em coming my friend! Quote
Colman Posted May 14, 2008 Report Posted May 14, 2008 Jordon, Very nice work! Like the way the leaves are overlapped on the checkbook cover. What tool did you use on the border on the inside of the bible cover? Johnny Quote
Members gunfighter48 Posted May 14, 2008 Members Report Posted May 14, 2008 Jordan those look great. How did you apply the stain to the bible cover? Did you use an airbrush? John Quote
Members Spider Posted May 14, 2008 Members Report Posted May 14, 2008 Very cool Jordan. They have that worn look I love. Quote
Members tazzmann Posted May 14, 2008 Members Report Posted May 14, 2008 Very nice looking work Jordan! Keep 'em coming! Quote
Contributing Member Jordan Posted May 14, 2008 Author Contributing Member Report Posted May 14, 2008 I used craftool #E294 on the inside for the border and to hide some problems on the other piece. No airbrush, I don't have the patience to learn how to use one well enough, I used a damp dense sponge in a swirling motion. Thanks very much for the comments, though I don't think my work comes close to some of you that post on this board. Quote
