TOM123 Report post Posted December 16, 2011 Start with good firm leather The firmer the leather the stiffer the belt Then I BARGE glue two 6-7oz strips of leather together, sew, dye and finish with ACRYLIC RESOLENE. McMaster Carr has them in 1/32, 1/16, 3/32, and 1/8". I would like to think the 1/32 would be enough, but wanted to get some feedback before ordering. Thanks. Big G Report post Posted December 22, 2011 springfield leather has .06 kydex and .093 @ 4.75 sq ft. i am going to buy a 1 ft. x 4 ft piece next week and have it cut on a sheet metal shear in narrow strips. let you know how it turns out. a friend at a local plastic supply shop said abs plastic sheets tend to crack in cold weather but kydex will not?
