Stainless Steel Modeling Spoons

Recommended Posts

Anyone have a source for stainless steel modeling spoons. I'm tired of the chrome on the Tandy spoons coming off and scratching my leather. Thanks.

I would be interested in that too. It's no fun having to pick those flakes off of a project.

Often overlooked source. Walgreens.

Look in the nail care department for cuticle tools. Different brands use different profiles but all I've seen so far are SS.

Save money over the Tandy variety as well.

And of course you can reshape some to your favorite profiles.

Barry King now has a double ended spoon in his line up.

I do like the Walgreen idea too though.

Thank you all and thank you Southtexas for the pic so I know what to look for. I ended up picking up a set of stainless 'carving' tools from Harbor Freight that have a few of the profiles I was looking for (once I clean them up a bit and add some girth to the handles). I did not see any of these on Barry Kings site so maybe I was looking in the wrong area or he does not have them on the site yet.

i bought a rather extensive set off of ebay about 10 years ago. the auction said that they were from the WWll era. no way to tell if that is true. but they are very nice. hardly used.

no markings on them, though.

the walgreen's option looks like it is a good buy.
