steveh Report post Posted December 16, 2012 Thank you for posting the link to the Russel catalog. Very interesting, The quality of the stamps is remarkable. I see in the catalog they refered to backgrounders, bar grounders and bevelers as sinkers. There dot sinker ( bar grounder) is priced at .25 cents, and a rope basket .35 cents . amazing. steve
SmokeCigars Report post Posted January 30, 2013 Wow holy inflation! Stamps now are about 25 times the price.
shtoink Report post Posted January 30, 2013 With the recent price increase of new stamps at Tandy to 9.99, the inflation is much closer to 40x. That's just insane!
PcCowboy Report post Posted June 6, 2013 Very interesting designs. Of all your scans I still don't see the design of the one that I have. Of course it was made by a company in NY that went out of business in the 1930s.
REDTAILHAWK Report post Posted June 6, 2013 PcCowboy, What does your stamp look like? I picked up one a while back of a pineapple. I know it used to be a sign of good luck or whatever, but it is pretty strange

I know it used to be a sign of good luck or whatever, but it is pretty strange Here is a picture of the tooling What do you know. I was wrong about the company Must have been thinking about the company I was looking for who made some conchos I wanted to find. The name on the stamp is: F. K. R. MCH. CO. Dallas TX. PcCowboy Report post Posted June 6, 2013 I have been looking for a few years trying to see if someone else has this tool, but haven't found anyone. Wilford Lewis got this from his father when he was young. Will died almost 10 years ago when he was 82. I use this tooling as my signature tooling since I seem to be the only one who can do it. bruce johnson Report post Posted June 6, 2013 Interesting stamp, I got a similar one from Bob Beard. As far as duplicating it exactly, a few makers could do it.

Northmount Report post Posted December 31, 2021 @shes2funky4u You can try searching through https://web.archive.org for the catalogue if that is what you are looking for. They have archived many websites. You might even be able to find Wyomingslick's blog before he deleted his entries.
