Members Alua Posted December 7, 2011 Members Report Posted December 7, 2011 Hi everybody! This is my first topic here, but I am a follower seit long time I just bought a Pfaff 545 and I have now some problems... first the timing, its completely out (I post some pictures to show you what I mean)... when the needle is in the right position the hook is 180° away! Second problem and probably connected is the saftey clutch.... its locked and when I press the piston it remain where it is. Everything moves and it seams the the safety clutch is just out of order... The machine at the beginning was sewing quite good, than I changed the thread and no stitch at all... any suggestion? Thanks a lot for your help http://www.bilderload.com/bild/157661/r0016415MWBNI.jpg http://www.bilderload.com/bild/157662/r0016410AVV8C.jpg http://www.bilderload.com/bild/157663/r00164171QTTG.jpg http://www.bilderload.com/bild/157739/r0016418BOZ02.jpg http://www.bilderload.com/bild/157738/r0016419KTBTT.jpg Quote
Contributing Member Ferg Posted December 7, 2011 Contributing Member Report Posted December 7, 2011 I don't know anything about your timing but it looks like you have your needle in wrong. The long slot or "scarff" should be to your left when you are sitting at the machine. ferg Hi everybody! Moderator Art Posted December 7, 2011 Moderator Report Posted December 7, 2011 Ferg, That needle is in correctly with the scarf on the right next to the hook, the thread groove is on the left, as is required, and the needle is threaded left to right. All correct. Art I don't know anything about your timing but it looks like you have your needle in wrong. Moderator Art Posted December 7, 2011 Moderator Report Posted December 7, 2011 Alua, Make sure there is not any thread in back of the hook or anywhere else binding the shafts. If the saftey clutch is tripped, you should be able to turn the hook fairly easily, then you just push the sc button and turn the machine backward to re-engage the sc. Art Hi everybody! Members Alua Posted December 7, 2011 Author Members Report Posted December 7, 2011 Hi, thanks first for the fast answers! when I push the sc button everything moves like before and the "tooth" doesn´t catch the sc anymore... it seams like locked in that position... here 2 videos, bad quality but I had just a small camera to record. Maybe I can explain it better... (thanks!) http://www.vidup.de/v/jWjcq/ http://www.vidup.de/v/4MyEJ/ Quote
Moderator Art Posted December 7, 2011 Moderator Report Posted December 7, 2011 Hi Alua, You have to push in the little button/tab (more of a tab on the 545) or whatever that holds the pawl out of the groove, then rotate until the pawl goes back in the groove. It is on page 17 or 18 of the service manual. ja_1245_06-09_e.pdf ja_1245_06-09_d.pdf I've included both English and German manuals for the 1245, hope this helps. Members stand out and shine Posted January 5, 2012 Members Report Posted January 5, 2012 Do you have access to the full manual for the Pfaff? I'm trying to get one as I just got a machine, and I'm not even sure how to thread it at this point.
