Ornamental Stamping

Here is a project that I worked on this evening. I used about 6 tools and a swivel knife. I will oil it up tonight, apply clear lac and glue a piece of suede for the bottom. I will sew it up after using a 5 cord white cotton thread.

Yes, his books have some great ideas. No, this one came from an article he wrote for the Leather Craft & Saddler's Journal many years ago.

It is smooth veg-tan leather so an optical should work, but I will let you known when I hear from the new owner. Thanks

This particular lesson came from an article Mr. Paul published many years ago for the Leather Craft & Saddler's Journal. I am sure that his books will give you a great base to start from. The article that I took from this was for something else. It took a bit to figure out with measurements for such a small piece of leather.

I will have more step by step pictures on my leather working blog.

Thanks! Please do let my know--I hope it works marvelously. I'd love to have a nice leather mat and wrist pad for at work. I may work in cubeville, but I can dang well make myself a nice leather mouse pad and pencil cup, right? Or I may have just opened my mouth to insert feet.

Whoops, sorry McJeep. I didn't get a notification that you had replied too. Where I work, we've come across a couple of mouse pads the opticals hated too. My current pad works just fine with the mouse. But it's boring and a little too small when working on two screens, so this may be the perfect solution!

Hehehe - I had the same mouse pad for about 15 years - tasmanian devil with a whirlwind of papers swirling around in the background - thought it was appropriate ;0) Have since started using a tablet as a mouse instead - easier on the arthritic joints
