tntsl Report post Posted February 24, 2012 I have two Barry King swivel knives that I'm not using much that I'd like to sell. One has a 3/8" barrel and a 1/4" angled thin blade. This was the best combination I found for detail carving until I got the 1/8" angled blade for my SK-3. The second knife has a 1/2" barrel and a 3/8" straight regular (ie. thick) blade. Both knives are in perfect shape and the 1/2" barrel knife is only about 4 weeks old. these are great quality knives but now that I've gotten the feel for my SK-3 these aren't getting used much. I'd like to get $40 for each knife and $10 for the extra blade and those prices include shipping in the continental USA. If someone wants both knives and the extra blade, I'd go $85 for everything shippped to your door in the CONUS. Shipping to Alaska, Hawaii or international would be extra and something we'd have to work out. I can get pictures of my knives if someone needs/wants them but the knives are in mint condition and you can see what Barry King knives look like on his site. The 1/8" angle blade works better for me but as you might have read in the many posts about swivel knives, it's definitely a matter of personal preference. I've had the SK-3 for about a year and have only recently come to like it more than my original Barry King and that's only after getting a 1/8" angle blade for the SK-3. I don't mean any offense by this but in the future would you please keep your views on peoples sale threads to yourself? Thanks, Troy I too would like a new knife. I just wanted it to be clear I wasn't disparaging the Barry King knives at all, they are great knives. Since I'm still getting the hang of carving, I've only been able to cut tight inside curves (on leaves, flower petals, etc.) with the Barry King 1/4" thin angled blade and the SK-3 1/8" angled blade. I have a Henley knife also and IMO the Barry King knives are as nice and smooth as the Henley and with the 1/4" angled thin blade I'm better with the BK than I am with the Henley. But I got the 1/8" wide beader blade with the Henley so I keep that one set up with the beader. All that said, the SK-3 is an awesome knife and if you can get one I bet you would like it.
