Dangerous Beans Posted December 6, 2012 Report Posted December 6, 2012 It's been a while since I've been on here, so I thought it about time I said Hi! Hi. Also a bit of a show off moment, I've been playing with the video camera, it's getting better but still a long was to go. this is a clip of me making a Bridle belt in Sedgwick 4mm lined with pigskin. I'd be interested in your thoughts. Nige Quote The secret to creativity is knowing how to hide your sources. www.armitageleather.com

Members particle Posted December 6, 2012 Members Report Posted December 6, 2012 Hi Nigel - the video was great! Thank you for the slow motion portion where you showed your actual hand stitching method of wrapping the thread around the needle. Very informative. I have to admit, when you got to the portion where you were hand stitching the decorative stitching, my blood pressure rose - it was one of those "dang, still have more stitching to do!!!!" moments. LOL My hat's off to those of you that hand stitch all your work. You have much more patience than me. Can I ask where you get your wood boxes for your belt packaging? Or do you make them yourself? Members ReneeCanady Posted December 6, 2012 Members Report Posted December 6, 2012 Excellent video! I have to admit, I can NOT hold both needles and the awl at the same time lol. I love how you did the close up of the stitching method. Quote www.facebook.com/alteredleather

Members Anti19 Posted December 6, 2012 Members Report Posted December 6, 2012 Beautiful work! Thank you very much for your video! I have a few questions if you dont mind. I'm assuming the stitching punch you use is a Joseph Dixon. What is the punch size, and what awl (and awl size) do you use to enlarge the holes? Also, what size thread do you use? I'm looking to refine my stitching, and I understood that one of the best way to go would use a stitching punch like the one you use (Joseph Dixon, Vergez-Blanchard, etc.) but i'm reticent to buy an expensive punch if I dont know what kind of awl and thread would match it. Thank you very much! Quote
