Members talon Posted December 30, 2012 Members Report Posted December 30, 2012 I'm looking for a general purpose machine to handle light leather sewing (max total thickness of 1/4"), webbing, and other heavy fabrics.From the research I've been doing recently I'm looking at two specifically. The Consew 206 RB-5 (upgraded to servo motor) and an Artisan 618-1 SC. I'm wondering if someone could help me identify the critical differences between these two machines. The cost of both is acceptable. I'm especially concerned about longevity and parts availability. Thanks! Clay Quote

Elliot Posted December 31, 2012 Report Posted December 31, 2012 I have a 618, bought used for under 400.00 and the seller got a real good deal. To fix you would have to melt it down and start over. Never used a 206, but it has to be much better. Quote
