I'm looking for a general purpose machine to handle light leather sewing (max total thickness of 1/4"), webbing, and other heavy fabrics. From the research I've been doing recently I'm looking at two specifically. The Consew 206 RB-5 (upgraded to servo motor) and an Artisan 618-1 SC.

I'm wondering if someone could help me identify the critical differences between these two machines. The cost of both is acceptable. I'm especially concerned about longevity and parts availability.

Thanks!

I have a 618, bought used for under 400.00 and the seller got a real good deal.

To fix you would have to melt it down and start over.

Never used a 206, but it has to be much better.
