Members jkwparrott Posted January 3, 2013 Members Report Posted January 3, 2013 Well, here it is. Thanks to "Particle" for the teaching via his video on making Avenger style holsters. I made a few mistakes and was really just making this one as practice for a more serious try, but I like it now that it's done. I made a few mistakes but nothing really noticable I don't think. This is the main reason I got back into leatherworking, I got a new Ruger and could not find a nice holster for the P345, so I decided that I could make one. Let me know what you think. Quote
Members Rmplstlskn Posted January 3, 2013 Members Report Posted January 3, 2013 Looks good to me... Function is more important than looks though... Looks like a forward cant. Rmpl Quote
Members mattsh Posted January 3, 2013 Members Report Posted January 3, 2013 Looks good for the first holster. Welcome back to the addiction! Quote
Members jkwparrott Posted January 3, 2013 Author Members Report Posted January 3, 2013 Yes, it has a lot of forward cant, that's what I prefer. Being old and lumpy around the middle it's just more comfortable that way. I started on a new pocket holster for a small Kel-Tec .380 last night, nothing fancy. We'll see how it turns out. Quote
Members Haystacker Posted January 3, 2013 Members Report Posted January 3, 2013 (edited) Nice job. particle's videos are the best I have seen for modern holsters. Edited January 3, 2013 by Haystacker Quote
Members particle Posted January 3, 2013 Members Report Posted January 3, 2013 Looks great! Congrats on going all out and tooling it too! Focus on that one gun and each attempt at additional holsters will quickly refine your techniques without worrying about learning the details of new guns. Glad you found the videos helpful! I hope to make more, but never seem to scrape enough money up for a new computer and storage capacity. Videos take a ton of storage space!! Quote
Contributing Member Samalan Posted January 11, 2013 Contributing Member Report Posted January 11, 2013 Nice job on that. Quote
Members Steve75 Posted January 14, 2013 Members Report Posted January 14, 2013 Nice job. I like the tooling you did on the shield, it really stands out with the contrast in dyes. Quote
