Actually I live between the Rocky River (ergo..the Rocky River Leather Co.), and the Deep River. I fell in love with this band when we used to have a video channel that featured music from many different genres (can't remember it now? MOR Music? something like that). Here's my fav, which I found just surfing around for cat related stuff: This super catchy tune has me hooked. You can find more Sparta info off there too. I've been playing and listening to bluegrass for years, and when I studied music at WSU, I (reluctantly) developed a taste for other genres, including rock. So groups like this really get my attention. You heavy metal fans out there might notice the presence of one Robert Trujillo, who is the bassist of Metallica. I didn't really recognize him...though my husband informed me that he's not on the album, as was noted by many of the viewers. It's still a great video. ps did you know cats have a gene that either makes them like catnip or not? My first cat could not have cared less about it. TomSwede Report post Posted August 24, 2008 This is my alltime fav musicvid. Shot by Jonas Åkerlund before he got contracted by Madonna. This is heavy metal and viking influences. Those who like heavy music may be able to trace this bands influences to a certain american viking band (most members Italian origin) from the 80's, the mighty the brave..Manowar. Bathory is the name and Jonas (Boss) used to play the drums and the only other real member was Quorthon (in essence, he is he band) who has now been sent on to the great golden hall. Oh and I don't expect so many people here to like it but it's not the ultra fast music with growling singing that has put Scandinavia on the metal map forever. Robert Trujillo is to me the bassplayer of suicidal tendencies. The other does not really exist for me after Justice for all (wich I think is a quite mediocre album allthough it has some originality). I love Suicidals first album. Yeah, he was just a video prop, more or less, albeit a very convincing one. I agree, great performance, and I loved the scenario! ps did you know cats have a gene that either makes them like catnip or not? My first cat could not have cared less about it. I did. Always when Manowar comes to Sweden and are being interviewed they are almost blushing about this Italian origin and almost appologize for their existence, lol. It's very fun to watch on TV. Funny you mention spaghetti western because they look like comic book vikings, at least in the 80's. For all I know, there were alot of viking drop off's in Italy during this era.
