Members Ran Posted February 8, 2013 Members Report Posted February 8, 2013 I recently decided to try my hand at making a good stout belt for hosting a holster. This is my first stab at it. I had only a small amount of 6oz and 9oz long enough to make a belt, so I cut a couple of 1.5"~ strips, glued them together and started playin' around. Like any first attempt, there are several things I'll do differently on the next one, but all-in-all, I'm fairly happy with this one. (Oh...made the holster a couple of weeks ago for my Sig P938) Quote

Members Dwight Posted February 8, 2013 Members Report Posted February 8, 2013 There are now two of us who make belts with 7 holes, . . . (that I know of, . . . lol). Just about every one else only does 5. Good job, . . . welcome to "belt land", . . . May God bless, Dwight Quote

Before I got started, I took off my Bull Hide Belt and copied the configuration. The holes are also 3/4" apart instead of 1". Quote
Members mikesmith648 Posted February 8, 2013 Members Report Posted February 8, 2013 Make that 3 of us...................the making of a trend??? Quote
Members Blazin Posted February 8, 2013 Members Report Posted February 8, 2013 Excellent! Doesn't look like someones first attempt at a belt at all. Thanks for sharing. Quote
Members Ran Posted February 8, 2013 Author Members Report Posted February 8, 2013 Thanks folks! I just received my first order for a holster with matching belt. Fun work! Quote
Members PenCapChew Posted February 8, 2013 Members Report Posted February 8, 2013 Awesome job! Definitely doesn't look like a first to me. I like that style holster as well. I want to try a belt sooner or later. Quote
Members Rayban Posted February 9, 2013 Members Report Posted February 9, 2013 Nice going, I see you're getting along very well with your new machine. 5 holes at 1" apart, or 7 at 3/4" apart is an option I make available to all....I would say their preference is split right down the middle, and it usually depends on how they carry. Thanks Rayban. Personally speaking, I prefer the 7 holes at 3/4" spacing because it just makes sense to me. In order to 'fine-tune' one's comfort, it seems like common sense to me that a 3/4" spacing gives the user more options. I guess that if someone regularly switches from OWB to IWB carry, a wider spacing 'might' be helpful?? The machine is awesome! (CB4500 from Bob at Toledo Sewing Machine). I couldn't be happier, frankly. I've had my share of broken needles and screw-ups, but all of them have been simple learning mistakes. Quote

raysouth Posted February 23, 2013 Report Posted February 23, 2013 Great belt and holster. You should find plenty of work using this one as an example. God Bless. Quote
