VERY NICE.

That's a beautiful carving but I would have thought a duck or a game bird might be more appropriate.

Nice work just the same.

You are probably right, but I have been wanting to try tooling a moose, and one of these lanyards, killed two birds with one stone and now I have somewhere to put them. Thanks for the kind words.

I'm digging the moose. Any outdoorsman will enjoy it. That looks like a good project I could make for my father in law.

Hey! Awesome! And you are welcome I hope those strands hold up well for you. Did you use anything to waterproof it?

I used sno-seal, heated the piece in the oven, liberal amounts of sno-seal, repeated this process 4-5 times, I hope it is waterproof but I am not sure. The strands are made of para cord, all the loops are sewn and wrapped with waxed linen thread and then the ends were covered with heat shrink tubing. The whole process is trial and error. Thank you again for the inspiration.

What in the heck is a bird lanyard....!?

You catch a bird with it....or can you make it sit on it to swing....

no clue..!????

That's what my wife says about me.......well, that is another story...

No problem.

A bird lanyard would be to hang the birds from the neck so they don't have to be in the mud on the ground or wherever you are. Keeps them together for easy carry out of the blind/lake/woods.

Maybe he wants to dual purpose it and use it as a Moose Lanyard too. Need larger lanyards I suspect though......

Very nice job.

Thanks for the compliments, if need be, I could throw it around the neck of a moose and lead him out.

As long as she don't have a calf they get a bit nasty with there calf around, it could be a new rodeo event moose leading. LOL
