Members Grumpy Coyote Posted March 20, 2013 Members Report Posted March 20, 2013 Simple box bag w/ handle, for my girl. She didn't want a shoulder strap. Front and back are oil leather, gusset and accents are veg tanned. Wet-formed gusset to give it solid structure. All hand saddle stitched. The buckle is a braided lanyard knot over a wet-formed rolled toggle. Far from perfect, but ok for my second go at a bag... Quote
Members DoubleC Posted March 20, 2013 Members Report Posted March 20, 2013 I love this, and really love the leather toggle. Might have to replace my 'stick' toggles with a couple wet formed ones. Thanks for sharing. Cheryl Quote
Members dagcon Posted March 20, 2013 Members Report Posted March 20, 2013 I don't think she'll like it. Put in in a box right away and send it to me! Quote
Members Grumpy Coyote Posted March 20, 2013 Author Members Report Posted March 20, 2013 I wasn't crazy about the fit and look of the knot, so I added a bit of whipping to tighten everything up and balance things out a bit. Again, not perfect, but it helped. She's happy, so I'm happy. Quote
Members Basically Bob Posted March 20, 2013 Members Report Posted March 20, 2013 That's awesome! Beautiful stitching and I really like the design! Thanks for sharing! Quote
Members WoodBoneAndStone Posted March 20, 2013 Members Report Posted March 20, 2013 Very nice! I often avoid the use of hardware, especially on rustic and renaissance type pieces. Quote
Contributing Member TwinOaks Posted March 20, 2013 Contributing Member Report Posted March 20, 2013 Very nice job on the gussets. The ONLY thing i see is possibly putting a turks head over the whipping....just to keep the theme consistent. Quote
rickybobby Posted March 20, 2013 Report Posted March 20, 2013 Very nice bag! This is your 2nd? WOW! I would need to pull my second out of the "junk box" to photo it, lol!! I'm a slow learner A nice piece, your work is top notch. Quote
