Members KnotHead Posted June 11, 2013 Members Report Posted June 11, 2013 Got some SST mag clasps and put one on my bracelet. This was well worth the wait and expenditure for these. They have some bling and they wont turn your wrist green either. LOL... B... Quote

Members cst Posted July 5, 2013 Members Report Posted July 5, 2013 What do you call that type of braid? I've been asked to do something like that but don't know what to search for when looking for instructions. Thanks. Quote
Members cst Posted July 6, 2013 Members Report Posted July 6, 2013 Never mind. 142 web pages later, I found it. I think. Quote
Members skyout Posted July 6, 2013 Members Report Posted July 6, 2013 I believe Brian's on vacation and won't be near any pc's for a while. This is a Trenza De Doce Braided Kangaroo bracelet. Quote
Members skyout Posted July 6, 2013 Members Report Posted July 6, 2013 cst, Brian wrote an excellent article about the rectangular braid here. http://www.khww.net/articles.php?article_id=175 Quote
Members cst Posted July 6, 2013 Members Report Posted July 6, 2013 From what I can tell, it looks like a trenza de doce. Which I think translates to 12 strand braid. I did not find a tutorial I could understand, however it seems like a two over one under one over round braid that goes rectangulated automagically. I made a bracelet earlier today using 1/8th" pro lace from tandy and I didn't do something right, it seems too spongy. I might try this again around a core. On the other hand I've never braided anything before, so more than likely I just need to work at it some more. Quote
Members cst Posted July 6, 2013 Members Report Posted July 6, 2013 I should've checked for more replies before I responded. I'll have to go read that. Thanks Quote
Members skyout Posted July 6, 2013 Members Report Posted July 6, 2013 You're welcome. I'm sure Brian will help if needed when he's back. Quote
Members KnotHead Posted July 9, 2013 Author Members Report Posted July 9, 2013 Sorry it takes me a bit to get to all the places I visit and post at. Essentially, this braid is just a round braid flattened out and rolled on the preferred surface of your choice. The sequence goes like so, Under 2, Over 1, Under 1, Over 2 - will equal a 12 strand You can even just do a regular 12 strand braid, Under 2, Over 2, Under 2. Hope this helps. Brian... Quote
