Just finished this for a customer. 9 oz tooled leather journal. 9 x 12 " - it's huge and it weighs almost five pounds. Fun project! I decided I hated cutting paper so much that I offered to make it bigger (free of charge) than the original 8x8 that he wanted.

Fox on the front, aspen trees on the back.

Very nice. I just picked up an order for a sketchbook cover. Hope it turns out half as nice as yours.

I love this. My daughter wants a sketchbook for Christmas and I thought I might try one. Can you tell me what kind of paper you used?

I found an 80 weight paper at Office Depot in an 11x17. Not super expensive. Its a great weight, but I'm not sure what size I want to cut it down to.

I know she wants a book that will fold back flat so I'll have to modify anyway.

I used 60 lb Hammermill paper that I got on Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0017LP1IM/ref=oh_details_o03_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) . 80 weight would be awesome.

Are you going to go the serious book binding route?

I'll be interested to see your modifications, if you post them!

I've seen the real book binding, even have a real neat article, but not for me.

I'm gonna need this to fold back on itself and lay flat so she doesn't mangle that beautiful art I love so much.

I should have thought of it a long time ago to keep it all in one place instead of every square inch of my house:)
