Members Austyn Posted January 9, 2014 Members Report Posted January 9, 2014 So I have been looking for a hide that I can make belts and will dye really nicely with black, mahogany, dark brown, etc. Any info would be awesome! Thanks! Austyn Quote
Contributing Member JLSleather Posted January 9, 2014 Contributing Member Report Posted January 9, 2014 You want to dye it yourself, or get it dyed and just cut, either way at http://www.wickett-craig.com/index.php/leathers/colors Or, look at their tooling leathers, which they will split to the thickness you want. Single layers? Lined and stitched? I haven't used every type of leather they list, but those i've used have been quite good. Quote "Observation is 9/10 of the law." Members r lenna Posted January 11, 2014 Members Report Posted January 11, 2014 I myself like Herman Oak. It's easy to cut with the swivel knife. with the Wicket and Craig I struggle to drag the knife through it. and at http://panhandleleather.com/Hermann-Oak_c42.htm its a lot less $ Quote
