Members Josh Ashman Posted January 9, 2014 Members Report Posted January 9, 2014 The holster is roughly 8oz HO (it came out of a 10/11 hide but there was a thin spot on the shoulder) and the gunbelt is "mulehide" folded over a 4oz reinforcement piece. Thanks for looking, Josh Quote
Members Dwight Posted January 9, 2014 Members Report Posted January 9, 2014 Yee, Haw, . . . (couldn't pass up the old Hee Haw line), . . . looks real good, Josh. The light/dark mottling of the holster is an especially nice touch, I think. I did something similar to my personal Western rig, . . . but with black. Did you make that for youself or for a lefty customer? May God bless, Dwight Quote
Members Josh Ashman Posted January 9, 2014 Author Members Report Posted January 9, 2014 Thanks Dwight! and good eye. It's for my lefty wifey, it was under the tree for Christmas and she really likes it! Best regards, Josh Quote
Members Hibbert Posted January 10, 2014 Members Report Posted January 10, 2014 She ought to be real happy with that one! Great job Quote
Frank Posted January 11, 2014 Report Posted January 11, 2014 Very nice Josh. I like making those belts as they are quick to make....not a lot of burnishing or finishing to them. You just need to make sure you put paper down on the bench or your bench is really clean as they pick up dirt easy. Keep a gum eraser on hand just in case. Quote
Members Josh Ashman Posted January 13, 2014 Author Members Report Posted January 13, 2014 Thanks Hibbert! Frank, that is solid advice and thanks for the tip about the eraser. Best regards, Josh Quote
Frank Posted January 14, 2014 Report Posted January 14, 2014 No problem Josh. You could say I learned from my mistakes! Quote
