Members Beckywynn Posted January 25, 2014 Members Report Posted January 25, 2014 I've always wanted to do a headstall with beadwork incorporated. When asked to do a custom headstall for a special rope horse and to "do whatever I wanted", I took full advantage and tried this out! My friend hasn't seen it yet, and the pictures don't really do it justice, but I'm really pleased for a "first go" and learned quite a bit in the process! Quote
Members Rohn Posted January 25, 2014 Members Report Posted January 25, 2014 Looks really nice. I like it a lot. Quote
dirtclod Posted January 25, 2014 Report Posted January 25, 2014 Not what i would want, but it looks really nice !! My guess is you will be asked to make a lot more of them. Quote
Members Dwight Posted January 25, 2014 Members Report Posted January 25, 2014 Yep, . . . looks really good from here. I'm curious though, . . . how you finished off the beads, . . . or, probably, . . . how you did it in the first place. I could do the loom part, . . . even copy the patterns, . . . but the attachment, . . . haven't figured that one out yet. Have you got the little guy helping you with the beading yet? May God bless, Dwight Quote
Members Beckywynn Posted January 25, 2014 Author Members Report Posted January 25, 2014 Thanks everyone for the kind comments Dwight, this particular stitch is "tubular peyote"... Unlike the loom, each bead is threaded one at a time around the leather. You can find some good video tutorials on YouTube... Easier than than trying to explain in writing! Quote
Longview Posted January 26, 2014 Report Posted January 26, 2014 Becky, I really like your work. The headstall is great! Don Quote
Members Bev478 Posted January 26, 2014 Members Report Posted January 26, 2014 Nice work. My partner did some peyote stitch jewellery so I know how time consuming it is Quote
