St8LineGunsmith Report post Posted February 15, 2014 I am sorry but I don't really care how good a burnisher works when it is way over priced. I can get a good burnished edge with a wooden spool chucked into a drill press.
electrathon Report post Posted February 16, 2014 I have one. It works well. It does us wax to burnish so you need to have your dying done before you burnish. You also can not get into tight inside corners. Great for belts.
stelmackr Report post Posted February 16, 2014 Yes I have been thinking about buying this fantastic burnisher off Ebay, It is made and sold by stelmackr, he is a member here. Has anyone here used one, and what is your opinion on how it works. Thank you. Dan Dan, I do not make nor sell the Fantastic Burnisher off Ebay ( http://stores.ebay.com/Scent-of-Leather?_trksid=p2047675.l2563 ), the owner is Carla and she is the maker and seller. I have had two of these burnishers--the original prototype (she lives nearby) and the current model. Both work fine. The new model is attached to a 1" by 4" plank that I clamp to the workbench and use. The other is on a roll around cart with a belt embosser, a dremel-like tool and some tools. I really enjoy the different ways that people burnish leather. Some creative, some expensive and some old fashion (spit and a piece of blue jeans). Whatever works for you. Everyone swears by their method... Bob Stelmack
chiefjason Report post Posted February 17, 2014 If you already have a floor drill press or dremel, look into Pro Edge Burnishers. I have the "slot master" for my drill press and a "Rub stick" for molding my holsters. Fantastic stuff. Just one more, of a million possible ways to do it.
