Members Dwight Posted April 15, 2014 Members Report Posted April 15, 2014 Sometimes, . . . a guy has to know when to hold em, . . . when to fold em. I'm looking for something similar to trail boss Gil Favor's chaps in the Rawhide show, . . . pattern, . . . tracing, . . . picture, . . . anything you have to help will be much greatly appreciated.I've done a lot of leatherworking, . . . this has just about beaten me up, . . . I've tried a couple of times, wasted some precious material, . . . just can't get em to fit, hang, and feel right.Again, thanks folks, may God bless,Dwight Quote If you can breathe, . . . thank God. Members camano ridge Posted April 15, 2014 Members Report Posted April 15, 2014 Take a look at the Tandy Batwwing Shotgun Chap Patern pack. The batwing patern looks similar to Favors chaps. Quote https://www.facebook.com/CamanoRidgeCustomLeather?fref=ts

That actually was one of the patterns that didn't pan out, . . . least not for me, . . . but thanks anyway. Still hoping for someone with a tracing that they will share. Members DavidL Posted April 15, 2014 Members Report Posted April 15, 2014 trace out the pattern on cloth and tweak it slightly by marking areas that need to be large and areas that need to be tighter and stitch it on a machine. Provides a good prototype and you won't waste leather if its no good Quote
Members BondoBobCustomSaddles Posted April 15, 2014 Members Report Posted April 15, 2014 Dwight, I have a pair that I made a long time ago. Every time I think there is something that I want to change I use that pair of chaps and make the I guess they look pretty funny cause they have patches and added material on them from changes, but; they are comfortable and make a good pattern for additional pairs that I have made for others. PM me your address and when I get time I will send you a paper cut pattern of them to try. Bob Quote
