Thread Getting Wrapped Around Hook And Jamming

hello i have a seiko lsw-8bl

,only got it a couple of weeks ago,was sewing yesterday was going fine and them boom huge birds nest underneath,took of top plate and feed dog plate ,cleaned around everything ,while cleaning i noticed that the case that the bobbin sits you can move around freely if holding the fly reel, i put the plates ect back on ,put in bobbin and tried again,the top thread is just getting rapped around the hook and bobbin thread is to ,took photo showing the thread that is getting caught around the hook between where the bobbin casing is,when the needle is around the hook area feel a stiffness with the fly wheel,machine is well oiled,

1st of all you have to remove the bobbin case (maybe the complete hook but 1st remove the bobbin basket) an pull out all the thread (dirt + dust) and replace the bobbin case opener hook (#1) due to its damage.

If you can move the bobbin case freely then probably the nose of the hook which sits in the small gap of the needle plate is worn or the needle plate is worn where the nose sits in. Remove the needle plate and check if one of the small bumps is worn (most likely the top one). if so it cannot hold the nose of the bobbin case and then it moves freely.

Thats what I´d try at first.

When you put the hook back in you probably have to time the machine again.

If you have a service manual look into it for how to do. If you don´t have one I´m sure one can help you.

After you do the things that Constabulary recommended, check the top thread where it goes around the upper tension disks and make sure it is firmly seated inside the disks when you start sewing. Birdnests in the bobbin case are often caused by total loss of upper tension.

Also, make sure the top thread is going through the check spring and take-up lever.

its 3.40 am in new zealand only slept for an hour and now been trying to get this bobbin basket out ,i removed three tiny screws and removed the wee pin and took of the bobbin holder and have been wiggling it for 10 minutes and it seems it doesn't want to lift out,the plate that goes over the feed dogs the gap that fits the nose of the hook looks ok,i will try and wiggle the bobbin basket again it i cant get it out then i will try and remove the hook,been using a Manuel for a consew 255 and singer 111 as near the same from what gather reading some of the threads on here

I'm basically having the same issue.. I just have a Consew 226.. your bobbin looks exactly the same as mine.. so let me know what ends up fixing the issue.

great one i finally got the bobbin basket out,there was a big ball of cotton all fluffed up and hard,i gave the whole area a good clean put it all back together and bingo sewing really well,amazing something so small can cause a big problem ,thank you for your help

I am currently experiencing something very similar.  I have an Adler 167.  I will be stitching along fine and it will happen randomly, sometimes with beltloops or smaller runs of stitches forwards and reverse.  On long stitching parts like the inseam of pants I don't experience this, only short parts.  I've also noticed the needle bar appears to shift slightly, the set screws are tight, or the hook is a little out of time.  I've re-centered the needle scarf each time by adjusting the needle bar ever so slightly.  The hook has always been very close to the scarf, not on the other side which I've seen in Uwe 's hook timing video.  Hope someone can give me advice.

All of these machines have vertical hooks.  The needle thread passes under the bobbin case each time it goes around the hook.  If there is any thread, lint, dirt, etc. under the hook, those items will stop it from going under the bobbin case.  To remove  the bobbin case basket, you must remove two or three little gib screws that hold the flat washer type ring (gib).   It's function is to hold the bobbin case basket in the hook.  The bobbin case basket has a machined ring on it that has to be rotated to remove it from the hook.  Taking the throat plate out will help you get the bobbin case basket out since it has a little finger on it that fits in the small slot on the underside of the throat plate.
