First Mask

Recommended Posts

Hi all, I just got settled into my new place and got my shop set up. Here's a tooled greenman mask that I was asked to make.

As this was my first attempt at a semi-complicated mask, I'd really appreciate any advice or comments you may have. Enjoy!

well done mike, the coloring is really good and the shape of the leaves pleasing on the eye. The only think i could suggest is to paint the raw edges of the dangley thingies. I always paint the back and edges..gives it a more finished look.

That's a good idea :) I haven't put the finish coat on yet, so I can still make changes. What do you normally paint the backs of your masks with?

Very nice mask, especially for a first one! I usually paint the backs of my masks with the same dye or paint as I put on the front. Definitely gives it a finished look. I use an airbrush to apply it so it doesn't take long.
