buckskin shirt

leather_shirt_006.jpgwell i finally finished another Buckskin shirt. My cousin( U K Ray) has been wanting to see some more

of my work.

this was made from two fairly good size light weight Elk Hides. hope the photos are deserving.

i will take a photo with the customer wearing it , when he picks it up.

( the size is....a xxl with, a 52" waist)

What do they know in England about Buckskins...sheesh...All they had were those men in green tights

Seriously, I'ld be proud to wear it Luke. Nice job. The fringe cut looks like I think it should.

That really is a handsome job Luke - I may not understand much about buckskins but I know a superb piece of work when I see one.

...and if you knew what the weather was like over here, RDB, you would understand those green tights!

I've seen a number of buckskin shirts (got a friend who is an 'old west' reenacter) and I must say that is one of the best.

Ken, after Making several Buckskin Shirts over a period 22 years , I have had to use

3 different patterns to meet my expecitations as to how a shirt is to fit. The Gentleman that is

getting this one , has a 52" waist and is only 5'6" tall --- short arms Large belly.

Wow he is almost as round as he is tall.

windy he picked the shirt up today and i might say it fit him perfect. He was very pleaased with my work.

i did take some photos of him wearing it.... BUT camera is packed up, i am off to a RENDOVU..

How many stitches per inch on the sewing? I want to try my hand at this at some point in the future.

Surveyor....i did machine sew it with my( Adler clone 205-307)6-8 stiches to the inch

also there is a welt between the leather that is sewn...
