Members 9tpi Posted October 11, 2014 Members Report Posted October 11, 2014 Hello All First time posting my work on here. First try at a gusseted brief, saddle stitched. Made with tandy "Meza" double shoulder leather. This stuff is not too bad to work with. Lots of structure when used right but does not feel stiff. I wanted to use this for my first brief as it is 1/3 the cost of W&C bridle. Being my first case, there a many things i'll do different next time. Keeping my awl straight when pushing through two layers of 7 oz leather, making cleaner stops and starts when i run out of thread and adding a lining with some pockets will be all rectified on the next case. Members 74inchshovel Posted October 13, 2014 Members Report Posted October 13, 2014 Nice, very nice. I have made a couple of briefcases and this makes mine look, well, like I need to raise the bar. Very clean, crisp. Well done Where did you get the brass that goes from handle to case? Thanks Quote
Members ramrod Posted October 13, 2014 Members Report Posted October 13, 2014 you did a great job on this one! very well designed. nice proportions. but.......we need some interior pictures. i like the hardware on the handle. it looks like chrome in the pictures, but the strap hardware is brass. can you clear this up? and also, what are the dimensions of the case?
