Expensive Parcel Lost What To Do ?

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, I need some advice, input and support in a deplorable case I stand in the middle of. It's about a shipment from Texas Custom dies, who disappeared on the way to me. the value of the shipment is around 2000 USD.

The parcel is lost seller filed a complaint to USPS.

What would you do and what would you expect seller to do about it ? Have any of you been in a situation like this ?

I feel powerless and extremely sad here in Denmark, and I just want my tools that I should have been used to take a lot of pressure of me in Christmas sales...

I am in dialog with seller, but nothing constructive yet.

The parcel is gone and not to be found, a search for it has been done, but it is given up.

Please if you have any input, advice or just anything...

We are located in the US and ship world wide almost daily. We only ship USPS as we are 70 km s from Fed Ex or UPS... Once the package leaves the US it is almost impossible to track, but 90% of the time the package will usually make it to the destination. dId Texas die issue you a tracking #,insure the package,or tell you who they used as a shipping agent ? How long has the package been missing ?

Yes they insured the package, I paid for it. But they could not insure for the full amount.

Yes there is a Track & trace number, but the parcel is lost. It has disappeared during transport. It was promised delivered 7th nov.

In Denmark all packages are scanned every time they are handled, that makes it possible to follow it all the way. My package has not been scanned since 6th november and is nowhere to be found.

Wow, that is incredibly frustrating. It's only a week behind schedule, maybe it got lost in a truck or something. You could call the last post office it was scanned (and the next one it would go to) and see if you could get them to look around. I've had a lot of trouble with USPS at one time or another - they even lost my husband's wedding ring, and we had to call them several times and badger them into looking into it properly.

i agree...determine the shipping path...n keep calling and asking for managers or directors

until you get answers and satisfaction...i think all of the handling facilities all have a "lost" department that they can check...its possible it didn't get scanned for some reason, hopefully its not been utterly lost in the system because of computer system data mishandling...you'll have to wait out the window of the shipping agreement in the meantime...they WILL look for it rather than shell out the claim $$...if they dO opt to pay the claim...perhaps suck a trusted and well a known and customer service oriented business would make arrangements with you to resolve the situation...looking at their GLOBAL reputation, i suspect they'd rather be willing to accommodate you vs losing world wide customers....odds are some employee didn't have time or really give a darn...put it on a stack of 'i don't know what to do with this box" boxes and has jus been delayed due to carelessness....ya GOTTA keep faith in the hope that one way or another yur gonna get this made right...ive lived mosta my 43 yrs in Tx...and a true Texan stands behind their product AND their customers...cuz thats jus the way a REAL Texan does things...especially as a business, even if we have to take a hit because its the right thing to do to take care of the customer, we take care of the customer...because of our pride and because they know the rules of doing business...whats fair is fair and whats right is right...Texans are very proud...it may cost you the insurance payout, and delay yur order, but giving em the payout would be free fer you anyway...so why not jus give it to em so they can recoup some of their loss on the original shipment...the sucky part of all this is, it could easily take what will feel like eternity to resolve...ive never done business with this company...im jus sayin that odds are, yur situation will be made right

I have not dealt with shippments to Denmark but I have to other countries. When you say it was scanned on November 6 was that at the post office that recieved it from the states. Did it then go to customs. In dealing with shippments to Canada I have had a few instances where it was scanned recieved in Canada then sent to customs, one shippment was stuck in customs for three weeks before it reentered the Canadian postal system. Have you checked with customs?

It cleared customs in Denmark and disappeared after that.

Denmark is a very small country. Post your stuff one day and it is delivered next day, that is how it is here. Parcel arrived in customs at 2th november and was released 6th november. So a delay from 7th november to now 16th is...

They will not search for it anymore, case is closed by them.

I am so sorry to hear about your frustration. The USPS lost my package of vintage craftool stamps valued at $200 that was shipped from a private party in North Dakota. The last tracking location was the Richmond, California hub. Despite my badgering anyone who would answer the phone, and filing lost mail forms, it was never found, and USPS basically said, "too bad". It was insured for $50, but the 30 day limit had passed. The sender was awesome, he was going to return my $200 and take the loss, but it wasn't his fault the Postal Service lost the package. He was a knife maker, and instead of craftools, I got a beautiful knife with an eagle carved into a torquoise-colored antler instead.

I sure hope the sender will do good to you. It is a very unfortunate situation.
