Frederiek Report post Posted December 9, 2014 A small handbag with carved flowers. What more can I say It's ~3,5 to 4 mm of veg tan. I know I have A LOT to learn, but I'm quite pleased with how it looks Hope you like it! Any constructive criticism is very welcome of course. JLSleather Report post Posted December 9, 2014 (edited) I like the styling. Only thing is that 'stuff' -- is that an antique finish? Looks like something got left behind, the uncarved portion of the bag looks .. cleaner maybe. It looks like it's something you used on the carving. None on the flower petals, though - weird. Still, even with that it's a nice looking bag. A bit of smoothing on the shaded areas and without the paste (or whatever it is) this would be STUNNING. I'm not trying to sound negative .. I'm talking about turning a 7 into a 10! Edited December 9, 2014 by JLSleather
MonicaJacobson Report post Posted December 9, 2014 Frederiek, it's beautiful! I like the contrast in the carving, and it's only a pity most of the carving is hidden on the back!

Frederiek Report post Posted December 10, 2014 Thank you all for your kind words! JLS, comments like yours are most valuable for me to learn from. Only I don't really understand what you mean to say... (language issue from my side probably). I did indeed use antique finish, with block-out on the flowers. Is there too much left behind on the vines and such?
