So I made a book cover for a friend for Christmas, it was my first attempt and I'm fairly new to this so please hit me with feedback, good and improvables.

Vegetan leather, medium brown antique stain, gold cova colour, resolene, and purple pig suede. post-56250-0-18144000-1421558955_thumb.jpost-56250-0-42485500-1421558973_thumb.jpost-56250-0-69704700-1421558984_thumb.jpost-56250-0-10546200-1421558999_thumb.jpost-56250-0-85051100-1421559009_thumb.jpost-56250-0-38810100-1421559027_thumb.jpost-56250-0-84023500-1421559038_thumb.jpost-56250-0-07671200-1421559061_thumb.j

Looks like one of those rare magic books that swallow you up once you start leafing through it in the attic and will hold you captive until you manage to kiss the princess or shove the old witch into the oven!

Very well done, I like it a lot!

The picture on the front cover was one of the illustrations from inside. The Sagan quote was just due to his love of Sagan.

I couldn't decipher the quote at first - a very appropriate formulation.

Together with the asymmetrical geometric pattern the quote seems to drift through the rectangular frame like the fog in a haunted forest which probably is the dwelling of the nightmarish figure on the front side.

Again, I like the whole concept. I just wouldn't read in such a book after 5:00 PM (just kidding; with my newly acquired 1860 Army under the pillow I'd read through the witching hour ;))

I'm Quite impressed with the tooling on your front cover.

truly a work by a craftsman,

The gold sets it apart and the purple does take you away to a story book culture for sure.

Nice concept, your friend will always love it ! - Wild Bill46
