dfrensdorff Report post Posted February 27, 2015 Hello All.......First of all I would like to introduce myself......New member from Gardnerville, NV. in the Carson Valley. I am interested in making some chinks for ranch work, and I have the opportunity to buy an Artisan 1797AB, with very few hours. The current owner made a few fancy motorcycle chaps and says the machine is virtually brand new. Is this machine going to be heavy duty enough for chinks, chaps, tool rolls etc. I can get it for $1000, maybe a little less. Thank you for any and all information and advice. Toolster Report post Posted March 11, 2015 FWIW I'm expecting delivery of my new Cowboy CB0797 (Cobra Class 17, Artisan 1797, same machine) today. I already own a CB3200 so there shouldn't be a huge learning curve for me. I've been wanting to do some lighter items and pretty sure this machine will fit my needs. I'll post my thought's on it in the next few days. BTW I've not heard much good feedback on Artisan's customer service. Even though your machine is used this might be something to consider. My machine was $1095 and I've got a GREAT dealer (Ryan Neels @ Neels Saddlery and Harness 330-692-1418) to lean on if needed. Just my 2 cents..... dfrensdorff Report post Posted March 11, 2015 JW......thanks for the reply. Ironically, I have since decided to purchase the Cowboy CB3200. It will fit my needs much better, and then I can always do what you have done and buy a flatbed machine if needed. I just have not decided yet where I am going to purchase....Neels or Toledo ......I have sensed the same about Artisan customer service.
catskin Report post Posted March 11, 2015 When I was ready to buy Neels told me they HOPED to have a machine in ABOUT 6 weeks. Toledo had one ready to ship in 2 DAYS, so you might be wise to see who actually HAS the machine on hand.
