Members RavenAus Posted March 14, 2015 Members Report Posted March 14, 2015 Being in Australia means I would be charged 3 times the price of the keyring just for the postage, and for recycled bonded 'leather' at that :/ I'll make my own. Thanks for the pattern tboyce Quote Kind regards, Raven http://wolfscrafts.com/
Members veedub3 Posted March 14, 2015 Members Report Posted March 14, 2015 I made a few myself. For me 1.8 mm (sorry I'm from Belgium) worked the best. Only one problem. I looked the origninal maker up on google and he also is guy from Belgium called Alain Berteau . I decided not to make or promote any more of them. He lives maybe 50 km from my home and I feel bad just taking his design and make money out his work. He is actually a great designer who won an award 2006 as DESIGNER OF THE YEAR. He has is own collection Objekten but he worked for companies like BULO. Kudos to you Tomstas! I agree with that logic 200%. Members Retrospads Posted May 12, 2015 Members Report Posted May 12, 2015 How do you put the metal ring inside the leather? I have never done this before. Quote
Members cgleathercraft Posted May 12, 2015 Members Report Posted May 12, 2015 Its a two piece grommet and the picture shows the finished side and not the side that was rolled down. Here is what they look like: http://www.tandyleather.com/en-usd/search/searchresults/1285-01.aspx I whipped one of these up for my nightstand and used a rivet instead. Could also use a snap so it could lay flat in a travel bag. Quote http://www.cgleathercraft.com Member of the Iron Brigade.

Members snubbyfan Posted July 3, 2015 Members Report Posted July 3, 2015 Me likey. That's just the thing for a point of purchase at fairs and festivals. Most everybody has a cell phone and keys. I've taken the year off from setting up a vendors table but I've got ideas for next year and that'll fit right in. Members KrisbeeKream Posted July 14, 2015 Members Report Posted July 14, 2015 All of the scraps I have on hand right now are from 7 oz or higher leather. Any ideas on how this pattern could be modified to accommodate a thicker leather? Regardless, I'm going to try it even though it will undoubtedly be too stiff. It's too cool not to! Quote
Members TheCyberwolfe Posted July 26, 2015 Members Report Posted July 26, 2015 Krisbee, for heavy leather you could probably make the two end cuts a little longer, plus a little creative skiving to induce a little more bend in the folded arc. If the normal one is ___|-----------|___ then for heavy maybe ______|----------|______ y'know? Quote -- I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute! www.rogueleather.com
