Members OhSewPrettyLeather Posted April 15, 2015 Members Report Posted April 15, 2015 I'm a super beginner but my sister and I are determined to jump into this since we love flip flops lol! Thank you for the tutorial! Quote
Members MonicaJacobson Posted April 15, 2015 Members Report Posted April 15, 2015 Very cool, I like the shield shape on the black and brown ones. Quote http://monicajacobson.com/ https://www.etsy.com/shop/TrimGoTrix?ref=si_shop
Members The Don Posted April 15, 2015 Members Report Posted April 15, 2015 The toe stem is just glued on the second pair. I wanted a cleaner look in front. I hope it holds. Quote
Reegesc Posted April 15, 2015 Author Report Posted April 15, 2015 @ The Don -- Yeah you're probably ok. That's how most are made. Quote
Members The Don Posted April 16, 2015 Members Report Posted April 16, 2015 @ The Don -- Man those look great. On the first pair, how did you inlay that upper layer? Looks sharp. And on the second pair, how did you secure the toe stem? It really likes nice without a visible sew line. Impressive, all the way around. The first pair upper layer is a really thin layer of leather contact cemented to some 6/7 oz. I didn't stitch that. Quote
Members The Don Posted April 16, 2015 Members Report Posted April 16, 2015 Just got this for the bottoms Quote
Members Wraith Posted June 1, 2015 Members Report Posted June 1, 2015 Great tutorial, thought I would give it a try. First attempt isn't to bad. Kept it simple for the first go around, plenty of room for improvement. Brian Quote Brian https://www.facebook.com/LeatherAndPens

Reegesc Posted June 2, 2015 Author Report Posted June 2, 2015 @Wraith -- Those look great. I like how you brought the straps in the sides. The cork looks cool too. Quote
Members Wraith Posted June 2, 2015 Members Report Posted June 2, 2015 Thank you. I had several cork tiles laying around so I thought it might make for a cushy sole. Does anyone have a good source for sole rubber? Brian Quote Brian https://www.facebook.com/LeatherAndPens
