Members singteck Posted November 19, 2008 Members Report Posted November 19, 2008 Plain brown waist pouch using 3mm vegetable tanned leather and hand stitched with hand twisted natural linen. Thought I make a plain one and let the thread stands out. What do you think? singteck Quote
Members badger Posted November 19, 2008 Members Report Posted November 19, 2008 I like it. Bold and simple. I'm a fan of clean lines. Cheers, Karl Quote
MADMAX22 Posted November 19, 2008 Report Posted November 19, 2008 That is nice looking, I like it. What color and finish did you use. Quote
Members singteck Posted November 19, 2008 Author Members Report Posted November 19, 2008 Thank you The finishing is kind of a DIY brew. It's powdered dye in spirit (80% brown witn 20% black). Then the leather is coated with clear acrylic after burnishing and a final coat of wax. singteck Quote
MADMAX22 Posted November 19, 2008 Report Posted November 19, 2008 Very cool thanks for the info. Quote

Members Lippy Posted November 19, 2008 Members Report Posted November 19, 2008 Very nice! What's your trick for holding the edges together for stitching? Please tell us more. Thanks. Quote
Members singteck Posted November 19, 2008 Author Members Report Posted November 19, 2008 Thank you The first stitch and a few needles in the stitch holes is enough to hold the pieces together for stitching. Rubber band helps too. Here's a tutorial that I did a long time a go. You can have a look if you are interested. singteck Quote
Members Lippy Posted November 19, 2008 Members Report Posted November 19, 2008 Just had a look at your tutorial. Perfect. As you've shown, pre-punching the stitch holes makes everything work. Can you tell us a little more about the thread type and needle size. I'm still trying to improve my hand stitching so any additional tips you can give will be appreciated. Cheers and well done! Quote
