Members Django57 Posted April 23, 2015 Members Report Posted April 23, 2015 (edited) Hello , is it important to use waxed thread for small items like wallets or watch straps or would it be OK to use un-waxed , why i'm asking is there's a company in UK (LePrevo) that sell un-waxed 18/3 linen thread with a good choice of colours at decent price , i know i can wax it myself just wonderd if it's critical for small pocket type stuff ? Should say it's in my case it's for hand stitching. Cheers Dave Link http://www.leprevo.co.uk/photos/18_3_50.html Edited April 23, 2015 by Django57 Quote

Members grmnsplx Posted April 23, 2015 Members Report Posted April 23, 2015 Looks nice. Is it linen, polyester or nylon. I have some natural unwaxed linen. It looks really nice on some items as it is, and its great because you can dye it yourself. Quote
Matt T Posted April 23, 2015 Report Posted April 23, 2015 Please let us know how it works out, and put a picture of your stitching if possible. That is a really good price. Quote
Members celticleather Posted April 24, 2015 Members Report Posted April 24, 2015 That particular thread from Le Prevo is an excellent product! I use it all the time, but I always wax it before use. The wax keeps the thread from untwisting, and provides a degree of lubrication. Quote
