Tri-Fold Wallet Pattern?

Recommended Posts

I'm new to leather working, about four months. It has been incredible finding this website, the knowledge and helpfulness of subscribers is priceless. I want to make a wallet for my younger brother for his birthday. He uses a ti-fold, full size now, lots of cards slots, (think George Castanza from Seinfeld)! I am not sure which thickness leather, and does anyone have a template they would be willing to share?

Thanks in advance.

I would use 4-5oz for the outside and 2-3 for the insides myself

A pattern for a typical tri-fold seems impossible to find. Even just the inside vs. back sizing. Im making one now. After they finally ship the leather I will work out the open length difference. Insides already made.

Here is a trifold idea that I did some time back. Guy had a billfold like this, . . . his daughter bought him 30 years ago, . . . it was falling apart.

This is my practice workup piece, . . . can't find pics of the final one, . . . but this shows the general idea of it.

Pretty simple, . . . back, . . . two insert pieces, . . . one fold over piece, . . . bill holder, . . . done.

May God bless,

Dwight
