3wunder Report post Posted April 28, 2015 Hi all! Did this two weeks ago for a friend of mine. It's a simple design — and deliberately so, as she's very much into that minimalist aesthetic. Hope you like it. Adam
Europeanleather Report post Posted April 28, 2015 Nice job! What weight leather do you use on the gusset? Do you skive the edges?

3wunder Report post Posted April 28, 2015 Thanks, guys! Nice job! What weight leather do you use on the gusset? Do you skive the edges? The whole bag is made from 8 oz. shoulder. There was no need for skiving the edges, this stuff wet-forms and stitches like a dream.

3wunder Report post Posted April 29, 2015 (edited) very nice, how far in did you wet form the crease? im wanting to make a leather bag but still very gun shy about messing it up The crease is about 13 mm wide, I think, but you could get away with much less. I have made lots and lots of smaller things, but this happened to be my first larger bag. I'd say go for it, it's well worth a try. By the way: I simply formed the gussets over a last. I'ts a very nice bag. You do very good work. Thank you! Edited April 29, 2015 by 3wunder
kiwican Report post Posted April 29, 2015 a last?
3wunder Report post Posted April 30, 2015 a last? Like a cobbler's last ... a wooden dummy to aid in shaping the leather. Is there a better term for it?
