Playing with shark

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone, I haven't posted in awhile as I've been busy making holsters for the new web site. I thought I'd share some of the latest one's I made for some of the guy's down at my favorite gun store. They all carry Glock's so I made them each one but each one is a little different, comments are always welcome ( good or bad ). Thanks for looking !

Beautiful holsters! Is the shark hard to work with?

Hi and thanks, Bruce the cant is 20 deg. And Arts, shark is rather simple to work with, about the only part that gives me problems is when I'm doing the edges, you need to start with a very sharp edger. Other than that it's the cost. But thank you for your comments.

Best,

Rhome

Very nice.

Question for you, is the shark you are using veggie tanned or chrome tanned?

Hi, To be honest with you, I'm not sure. In any case I cement and stitch it to a piece of veg. tanned, and I make sure it never rests on the firearm itself.

The only shark that is out there is Veg Tanned, you CANNOT mold Chrome tan or should i say it wont hold a shape, but in order to make a holster out of shark, it has to be laminated to regular veg tan leather if indeed you will be molding or boning the shape of the gun into the holster. You can also just add a piece of shark as trim also.

Sorry to jump in.

Where would I be able to buy Shark leather? Is it fairly easy to find?

Thanks,

Karl
