Shearling is the "fuzzy" stuff on the underside of the saddle. There are felt saddle pads but they are whole and usually not cut up. Just checking to make sure you get what you need. I had a saddle maker down the street but he got out of the saddle making business about 4 years ago, just my luck. Where are the felt pads sold and how much does it cost per pad (Ballpark estimate)? Also mix 50% bees wax and 50% pariffin wax for applying to the burnisher. I saw this first on John Bianchi's Holster Making videos. It seems to work great!! I just ordered Ivans (he is on LW) burnishing wheel and motor off of ebay and got it a couple days ago (99.95 w/ shipping) eBay search "motorized fantastic leather edge " under "Crafts. Blake Report post Posted November 23, 2008 (edited) You can contact Buffalo Felt co. in NY and ask for a couple of samples of 100% wool felt and you can specify the thickness and density or firmness. If you don't mind spending a few dollars you can contact a wood working supply that carries tools and get the hard white felt wheels that are used for sharpening wood chisels etc. You can probably find them on Ebay too. I have some felt scraps coming my way. I hope it will help. I will look into you suggestions and see what I can come up with.
