piheart Report post Posted June 9, 2015 (edited) trying to know more about this machine makes me feel like studying in school again. my adler is 69-373, just read its manual and emailed with yojo who owns this machine in the forum, then noticed the clearance can be 12mm, but mines is around 7mm when lift foot up through knee level and lifting level. I read its manual page 14 and 15, wondering how should I adjust. I don't want to touch it until I'm sure how to do, otherwise will be disaster ( since english is not my native language ). So how to adjust to get 12mm clearance? here is the manual https://www.duerkopp-adler.com/export/sites/duerkoppadler/commons/download/public/69/s_69_gb.pdf Edited June 9, 2015 by piheart
piheart Report post Posted June 9, 2015 (edited) just lift knee level harder, then foot went up to 12mm, but got stuck and foot won't go down, need to use handwheel then goes down. maybe should loose certain screw? I sanded needle bar and oiled machine, needle bar didn't look smooth, thought maybe that's why . now it goes up to 12mm but stucks. Colt W Knight Report post Posted June 10, 2015 I am no sewing machine mechanic, but that sounds like something in the linkage from the lever to the machine needs cleaned, or its over extending preventing it from retracting.
vericone Report post Posted June 10, 2015 (edited) There is a photo of mechanism that is used to raise both feet. In the photo the height is maxed out, if You unscrew the nut and make the lever go down, then screw it back - the height will be minimal.... not exactly what You are asking, but good thing to know when discovering new machine.Having the problem You do, I would unscrew the top bolt ( pressing foot spring ) so the foot could freely go up... this will give You the clear image if there is something wrong with a foot bar or anything else. DrmCa Report post Posted June 11, 2015 Would not unscrewing the presser foot spring bolt change the way machine stitches? I'd be careful with the spring screw. My experience with several machines was that improper spring tension may cause skipping especially when material thickness changes like when going over folds and seams.
