SCOUTER Posted February 12, 2008 Report Posted February 12, 2008 ClayM, What a great idea putting both challenges on one piece of leather! You really nailed that floral! WOW!
Members Kani Posted February 12, 2008 Members Report Posted February 12, 2008 I like the ears better. They just didn't seem right to me before. Now they look like the lion is angry. good job. I like the new drawing alot better. Now here ist my attempt in carving the lioness and I changed the pattern a little bit. I will add the wiskers later... Gesa
Contributing Member Clay Posted February 13, 2008 Contributing Member Report Posted February 13, 2008 (edited) ok here is a close up of the lion and of the floral. Clayb the tool I used for the hair ia a f926. I used it like a beveler and walked it acros the piece starting at the bottom and in the areas where there was a change in muscle tone i hit it harder. ClayM oops this one is not very clear I will try to get a better picture Edited March 2, 2008 by Johanna reduced pic sizes Clay Miller
howardb Posted February 16, 2008 Report Posted February 16, 2008 OK, compared to the rest of ya, this bites dirt. But my kitty-loving daughter wanted it immediately, so it's not all bad. My first challenge response. I enjoyed tooling it, and did it while waiting between jazz recitals this AM (went mobile...). Some of the middle school kids were fascinated and watched me for a while. Contributing Member TwinOaks Posted February 18, 2008 Contributing Member Report Posted February 18, 2008 (edited) Okay, finally made time to make something!!!! sorry for the low pic quality- I have no macro Anyway, I decided to up the ante so to speak- Modeling tools a hair knife, swivel knife, and a F941. No hammer work at all., p.s. I know the front teeth in this pic are a little off line, and it's been corrected- but this is the best overall pic. Ambassador freak Posted February 20, 2008 Ambassador Report Posted February 20, 2008 Thanks for the bigger pics Bert. Just amazing !! brent don't sell yourself short man. You did a wonderful job man. Against my better judgment ( which is usually getting out of bed ) i wanted to try something. So i went ahead and added some black and white hoping to get the illusion i see in my head out. That still needs work { both } but i think i'm on the right path. Big THANKS goes out to Mike, who had some old fiebing's white antique laying around. That cat has come great stuff in his little work shop i tell ya, great stuff !!! And an all around nice guy full of info . Anyway before i get lost in that here's a pic. Again sorry Tina. The picture makes it look flat and some of the white antique doesn't show up that well in the pic. Oh well you get the just. It takes more then one freak to have a true freakshow. So take a seat , the show is about to start. Check out the freakSHOW
