Members DR80 Posted July 30, 2015 Members Report Posted July 30, 2015 (edited) Hello, this will be my first post here, so i start with an apologize for my bad grammatics and spelling (I'm from from Sweden so this is not my first language) I'm soon going to start my first leather project, which will be a watch strap in rubber (No of course in leather ) I have a question regarding the finishing of the saddle stitch. In tutorials the recommendation is to back stitch two or three stitches, but i have seen some leatherwork with just one back stitch (see the attached file) I use linen thread if that matters. How to finish that stitch in a good way? perhaps someone have a tutorial that shows this? And one last question. What thread and dimension is used in the watch strap that i attached, is it possible to see? Thanks in advance. Edited July 30, 2015 by DR80 Quote
Members Colt W Knight Posted August 1, 2015 Members Report Posted August 1, 2015 You can run both stitches through the back and tie it. Quote
Northmount Posted August 1, 2015 Report Posted August 1, 2015 You can also bury the ends of the thread between the layers of the strap. Tom Quote
Members Nuttish Posted August 10, 2015 Members Report Posted August 10, 2015 You can tie the ends together with a surgeon's knot inside the fold. Quote
