Billy Hell Report post Posted October 22, 2015 (edited) A neighbor posted that he was having a garage sale and noted he had a jeweler's work bench. I didn't know what that was but went a day early to take a look. it belonged his grandfather. He used it heavily to make...you guessed it, jewelry! It had some water damage on the top but I had to have it for my leather work station. I offered $100 and a holster for his single action Ruger. He took the offer! I got her home and sanded and refinished the wood and holy smokes is it nice!! I also like having drawers for my tools that don't fit in my wood stamp holder. My question for y'all is what do you sit on? I have a wood bar stool with no pad. I also have a janked up padded bar stool and I'm thinking about replacing the faux leather with real leather. I am also looking at drafter's chairs/stools. Thoughts? Edited October 22, 2015 by Billy Hell
Thor Report post Posted October 22, 2015 This is a chair/stool I bought recently and I have to say that I love it. You sit straight and upright and it feels really comfy.
billybopp Report post Posted October 22, 2015 I always like to have something with a back on it. Invariably you find yourself bent over working on something for awhile and stress your back. It's really convenient to be able to lean back a little now and then without falling onto the floor. (I reserve falling off of barstools for bars). billybopp Report post Posted October 22, 2015 Not getting enough saddle time on horses, Thor? That does look pretty comfy.

Studio-N Report post Posted October 22, 2015 I used a jewelers work bench as my station at my flea market gig. I used one of these Saddle seat barstools. 29" tall.
Billy Hell Report post Posted October 22, 2015 Have to say I was looking at the saddle seat. I thought it might be cool to pull off the vinyl and tool up some leather as a seat cover in the vein of a saddle. Headed to Amazon to do some pricing. Billy Hell Report post Posted October 26, 2015 Very cool! I'm also thinking about doing a tooled leather top on padded circular bar stool. I'm curious if I can to the leather topper with just one piece.
mojave Report post Posted October 26, 2015 Billy Hell, That was a great find, and will be a nice work station. Thor's stool looks good for a workstation set also. Thanks for posting.
Billy Hell Report post Posted October 26, 2015 I have two of the saddle type chairs in my Amazon shopping cart. I need a rail around the bottom. I tend to like to prop up my feet while working.
