Jwfarms Report post Posted October 29, 2015 (edited) Hey Newbee here, I have a Singer sewing machine model 45K76 that I cant find a operators manual to. I was thinkin bout gettin into leather working and the machine was given to me. It runs great and it has the feed dogs on it (which I'm told this machine did not have). Anyhow I would like to know how to feed the thread properly and set the bobbin up in it. I've look on the internet with no luck. If someone could help me out in finding a manual it would be greatly appreciated......tanx Edited October 29, 2015 by Jwfarms

Constabulary Report post Posted October 30, 2015 (edited) Now thats a fly whee / pulley . Machine over all looks not bad - not very much dirt and oil gunk as far as I can tell and all parts seem to be present. Have you sewn with it? Anyway, I´d clean and oil it thorougly and keep it well oiled! EDIT: BTW - what I don´t see is a bobbin winder. Evo160K Report post Posted October 30, 2015 JW, Hopefully there's a YouTube video of an operating 45K76 somewhere in this eBay link. Hope it answers some questions about your machine http://www.ebay.com/itm/Singer-45K76-Cylinder-Bed-Antique-Darning-Industrial-Sewing-Machine-WATCH-VIDEO-/121739898772?nma=true&si=ogcjBitDrBM4ZPP%252B2tl2lR1VOOU%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
Jwfarms Report post Posted October 30, 2015 After lookin at the other rmachines.....that is a big pulley :-)...I've ran it but not sewed anythang with it... It runs great. Now that I have the manual (thanks to youguys), the plan is to clean and oil it and get to know it. What does the bobbin winder look like? Where can I buy replacement needles? jimi Report post Posted October 31, 2015 Hey JW, your machine looks like it will feed the leather just like any normal 45k21 etc.. i am not sure if this model came with the feed dog carrier or not but it looks as if it has one now and the jump foot mechanism has been taken off to allow you to feed the leather under the foot. also in the picture of the parts manual this model does not show a stitch length regulator screw?? but your machine has one, cool.you can see the bobbin winder in the parts manual in my last post. normally they are on the back of the machine near the fly wheel, (your flywheel has been changed) the other option was to mount it on the table near your belt. meanwhile you can use your drill, haha. if you cannot find needles near you, on ebay they sell them. after it is cleaned and oiled, see if it stitches!!. by the way, the screw on the arm is for attaching a swing guide so you might want to hold on to that because normally the guide plate screws on near your needle plate, but your machine does not have that area machined to receive that plate. these old swing guides pop up now and again on the net, but not too often. if you are a little handy and have the time you could make one. anyway good luck and if you need any pictures, just say, regards jimi.
