Members jstar61 Posted January 13, 2016 Members Report Posted January 13, 2016 Finished up a Valet Tray tonight. Black oil tanned, with a hair-on cowhide insert. White braided nylon thread. Quote

Members jstar61 Posted January 13, 2016 Author Members Report Posted January 13, 2016 Thanks. It's the same piece just two different shots. My photo skills and lack of a real camera don't help. Quote
Members veedub3 Posted January 13, 2016 Members Report Posted January 13, 2016 Oh, my eyes are playing trick on me. I thought one was black and one was brown. Either way it is gorgeous! Karina Quote

Members Chief Filipino Posted January 14, 2016 Members Report Posted January 14, 2016 veedub3 I'm with you on that one I thought it was two separate works. Nicely done. I haven't made one of these as of yet. Did you cut it as one large rectangle then cut slits towards the center rectangle? Quote

I haven't made one of these as of yet. Did you cut it as one large rectangle then cut slits towards the center rectangle? Yes, I did. I had a hard time with the seam at the baseball stitching separating at the back side. The glue didn't want to adhere as well to the oil tanned leather as it does with veg tan. Overall I'm pleased with how it came out. Quote
Members Wild Bill46 Posted January 25, 2016 Members Report Posted January 25, 2016 I too thought it looks like two ? one Brown, and one Black. Troubles with baseball stitching or not , The stitching looks very appropriately Achieved ! looks to be finely crafted, Good job ! -------- Wild Bill46 Quote
