Members Castineira Posted January 20, 2016 Members Report Posted January 20, 2016 Last weekend i found in a junkyard a pretty pack of sewing machines. After half hour of negotiation I bought it for 140$. The pack includes four singer sewing machines (two 18-2, one 29k1 and one 108w20) one divider and one cutter for soles. Except the 29k1 and a 18-2 all the rest in working condition with a good cleaning.I search in ismacs page for serial numbers and I can´t find the 108w20 number (W585470), in fact, I can´t find a W serie. Someone knows an explanation for this? Quote My sewing machines: Singer 29K1, Singer 48W6, Sigma A, Refrey Transforma 427, Singer 14SH754

Evo160K Posted January 21, 2016 Report Posted January 21, 2016 (edited) Do you have the parts and service manuals? The service manual happens to be in Spanish, which should be easy for you. http://dixiesewingmachine.tzo.com/MANUALS/SINGERPARTS6/108%20w%2020.pdf http://dixiesewingmachine.tzo.com/MANUALS/SINGERSERVICE2/108W20,W21%20-INST%20SPAINSH.pdf According to sewshop.com the W series records were lost. You probably know W machines were made in Bridgeport, Connecticut USA. Edited January 21, 2016 by Evo160K Quote
Members dikman Posted January 21, 2016 Members Report Posted January 21, 2016 Yep, I have two W machines, and while you can often find manuals for them there's no information available about their history. Members shoepatcher Posted January 23, 2016 Members Report Posted January 23, 2016 Nice find on the machines. "One mans junk is another man's treasure" certainly applies here. glenn Quote
