Herman Oak or W&C English bridle re post from supplier

Recommended Posts

moderators  delete this or the other one if this is a better place for this Q or the supplier location
not interested in who is their fav supplier but just leather in
fo thanks David

I've used W&C English bridle and have been very happy with what I've gotten standard grade

I'm needing to order @ 8 hides 8-9 oz  from WC and some hard goods from weaver and was wondering about the

Herman Oak,English bridle "weaver sells", and how it compares to Wc English bridle

as well as the Herman oak "BRIDLE leather"   Primary use is belts and bags/cases from the lower half

I have read the product description and it sounds similar BUT HAVE NOT had the leather in hand for the FEEL test

Has ANY ONE  used both and what differences, and or would you be happy using HO eb or WC eb

the reason for the Q"SSS is I'm getting close to a time crunch and not sure if WC will have the hides I need to me in a timely manner or on their schedule

not looking to buy imported tanned hides, and willing to spend extra for US tanned products

any feed back on the product is help full

, no need to compare shipping and customer issues

as all have some and generally get dealt with, to someones satisfaction

I ordered some "English Bridle" belt straps from Weaver (made in Mexico) so I could try it out on a smaller scale than a whole skin. While not "English" it is very good and not as dry as the W&C that I have. I plan to buy some full hides from Weaver and have them cut into straps for me ($11.00 charge to cut into straps -- very good deal). For what it is worth. Others may have different perspectives, but that is where I am at the moment.

thanks for the feedback,

One thing I'm doing is using,Only USA processed/tanned hides,

any other tanners or suppliers info is welcome

I want to work with in the american economy with quality products

I think we need a stronger MADE IN USA base

I'm still looking for quality american hardware at a marketable price

"

SB Foot?

Tennessee Tanning Company?

Sunderland Leather?

Thiele Tanning?

I think there are others, but I haven't looked into it.  Are these not still in business?

I could have sworn I read or heard that somewhere.

I apologize for spreading misinformation.

Now that I think of it, maybe they are the only vegetable tanneries left in the U.S.

But, I could be wrong about that.

Moser leather in Ohio, I think they do some of their own tanning.                                                                                                                                                                            utah leather

Check out Seidel tanning. They are in Milwaukee and use USA hides. They specialize in custom work too. I've only ordered their overruns but it is beautiful stuff.
