Members Red Bear Haraldsson Posted April 19, 2016 Members Report Posted April 19, 2016 Josh, That is some top shelf work, truly. Both of those are some squeaky clean holsters. By chance, would you have pictures of the old paddle holster? I don't know why, but I have been on a paddle kick here lately and I am trying to soak up as many ideas as I can before I start tinkering. Red Bear Quote
Members supercub Posted April 19, 2016 Members Report Posted April 19, 2016 I'm pretty sure the holster three posts up is a paddle. It looks like a sewn down loop, but I believe it is a paddle. It's the one I was referring to in my post. If I get another paddle order, I'm gonna try something similar. Again, first rate work! Quote
Contributing Member JLSleather Posted April 19, 2016 Contributing Member Report Posted April 19, 2016 Hey! That does NOT seriously "suck"! I'm jus playin'... looks great as usual! Members Josh Ashman Posted April 20, 2016 Author Members Report Posted April 20, 2016 Thanks again everybody! Red Bear, it's posted, check out 2 posts above yours. Have a great day everybody! Quote
Members Red Bear Haraldsson Posted April 20, 2016 Members Report Posted April 20, 2016 What are you using for a stiffener in it, kydex? I used Kydex for a gun/guitar case that I made and I am right impressed with the stuff. Quote
Members Josh Ashman Posted April 20, 2016 Author Members Report Posted April 20, 2016 No stiffener on mine Red Bear. The Don Hume was built similar to this with an all leather paddle. All the best, Josh Quote
Members Red Bear Haraldsson Posted April 26, 2016 Members Report Posted April 26, 2016 Ah, I see what you did there. Much obliged. Quote
Members Steve75 Posted April 26, 2016 Members Report Posted April 26, 2016 Seems like this was at one point a fairly popular holster. I found the Don Hume H702 listed on ebay. They made it for revolvers with 2" and 4" barrels for the J, K, L, and N frame revolvers. Most had a retention strap attached with snaps on both ends making it removable. Being a revolver fan I think I will attempt making on for my .357. Thanks again for sharing the inspiration for your holster, Josh. Members Josh Ashman Posted April 27, 2016 Author Members Report Posted April 27, 2016 You are very welcome Steve. Good luck on your .357 holster! Post some pics when you get it all done up. Quote
