Members Studio-N Posted April 25, 2016 Members Report Posted April 25, 2016 finally getting the bugs worked out the metal cutting process. this is a sample maker stamp cut in metal (aluminum in this case) on my home CNC machine. It stamped and pressed very well. It definitely takes longer and there are certainly more limitations to what can be done. Mostly it's in the spacing between letters and with the bit fitting between them. I'm hoping to be able to do this by summer time but I'll be in school 4 days a week so it's going to be on a limited basis. Anyway, just wanted to share. Cheers! Quote

Members Halitech Posted April 26, 2016 Members Report Posted April 26, 2016 looking good and I think it's time to do some ordering from you Quote
Members veedub3 Posted April 26, 2016 Members Report Posted April 26, 2016 Very Nice! Do you mind sharing which CNC you got and the size bit you used? 1/32"???? I got an X-carve CNC machine back in November and it has been great at cutting out acrylic templates for the products that I make over and over. I have also made several stamps from HDPE and Delrin. I am working on a brass stamp now to use with my heating iron, but it is slow going. I will get it dialed in at some point I hope. The X-carve is not bad, however I really wish I would have taken the time to do more research on CNC machines before I made the purchase, as I definitely believe I would have gotten a different model. Members builderofstuff Posted May 17, 2016 Members Report Posted May 17, 2016 Looks really good. Making them from metal is a challenge, that's why I just stuck with making mine from delrin and other plastics. Very well done. Chris Quote
Troy I Posted May 17, 2016 Report Posted May 17, 2016 When you go into production of metal stamps PM me I'm interested in a Makers Stamp. Quote
